PRE 2024 CASUAL COLLECTION
The brand's first-ever casual collection, "Pre 2024 Casual Collection," launches on Saturday, October 12.
The "Pre2024 Casual Collection" is based on designer Yoshida's belief that in today’s fashion design, the act of “choosing” which items to create is of utmost importance. Reflecting on this, Yoshida selected iconic pieces from the brand's history, spanning the past nine years, and modified them to create the new collection.
For each piece, the original shapes and details were preserved while reinterpreting the designs to reflect contemporary sensibilities and body-consciousness.
“As the brand approaches its 10th anniversary, reflecting on past collections and focusing on body-consciousness and urban perspectives close to myself has led to new realizations and brought back important emotions for the brand," says designer Yoshida.
The collection features 11 items, including a T-shirt printed with the logo from the brand’s debut collection in Fall/Winter 2015, a cut-and-sewn shirt referencing a "dead body suit" made from five vintage T-shirts from Fall/Winter 2020, and a new silhouette denim that returns to the source of double-knee skirts by reshaping work pants to create a slimmer hip. Other standout items include an MA-1 bomber jacket from Fall/Winter 2021 with a ribbed collar that folds inward, as well as hoodies and cut-and-sewn tops with distorted sleeves and necklines.
The collection focuses on new processing techniques, with meticulous bleaching tests to achieve modern, delicate colors like ice gray and faded black.
